10 Movies You Should Watch First on a New Home Theater System

You’ve just completed a masterpiece. The wiring is done, the last technician has left, and your brand new home theater system is begging for attention. The room that was previously known as the “den” is now a mind-blowing hyper-digital cinematic adventure-land.

But when you’re ready to plop down on the couch in front of the giant screen and crank up the surround sound for the first time, only a select few movie titles are worthy of such a christening. We love movies, we love awesome movies and we love making awesome movies even more awesome, so we’re here to help you narrow down the list.

Make sure you have at least one of these 10 movies on hand for the first viewing on your new home cinema.

2. The Fifth Element

Stellar performances by Gary Oldman, Bruce Willis, Milla Jovovich and even Chris Tucker bring this colorful fantasy sci-fi to life while saving the universe from evil. LiluDallas Multipass.

Your new home theater is the perfect showcase for this classic series of swindling, sailing and swashbuckling on the high seas, helmed by none other than the legendary Captain Jack Sparrow

8. Scott Pilgrim vs. The World

This eye-popping sleeper hit shows how an ordinary dweeb fights with honor for his new damsel, against a backdrop of video-game-infused, rock-band-battling mayhem. Yeah…wow.

9. Stardust

Another can’t-miss sleeper hit, Stardust is a fantastical tale full of intrigue, drama, joy, suspense and villainy…and Robert DiNiro’s steampunk airship-captain-in-the-closet character is priceless.

10. Lord of the Rings (series)

Follow Frodo one more time on his quest to destroy the one ring in the fiery depths of Mount Doom. Enjoy the entire iconic trilogy with its all-star cast, grand score and breath-taking locales
